Boccioni in the “Technical Manifesto of Futurist Sculpture” (1912) says:
“Here I am referring to the genius Merdardo Rosso, and Italian, the only great modern sculptor who has tried to open up a whole new field of sculpture, by his representation in plastic art of the influences of the environment and the atmospheric links which bind it to his subject.”
