A lecture on Futurism by Prof. Alessandro Carrera, director of Italian Studies at the University of Houston, on the occasion of the centennial of the Manifesto del Futurismo, published by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1909 will be followed by a short reception.
A concert of Mr Andrea Silvestrelli will take place, in order to benefit the victims of the earthquake in the Italian city of L’Aquila. Mr Silvestrelli, one of the most sought-after ‘bassi profondi” on the opera scene, now performing in “Rigoletto” with the Houston Grand Opera, will be accompanied by the pianist Jo Anne Ritacca, vocal coach at the Moores School of Music.
